PURSuE Your Art! Holiday Purse Class

Mary and I held our First PURSuE Your Art! Purse class at Stampers Cupboard Scrapbook store in Mukwonago, Wisconsin. Six women attended the class to design this festive Holiday Purse.

Therese, the owner of the store, chose our eight pocket purse for the class. Four coordinating papers were used to cover both sides of the five panels that make up our purse. The Xyron 900 was a hit at the class. It makes covering our panels quick and easy.

The eight pocket cards were made using paper, stickers, stickles and a snow flake punch. Two hours, much laughter, paper mess later, six happy women left with a fun holiday purse.

Come January 1st, each of these women who purchased our replacement panels and pocket cards can design a new purse look for just $6.50. Store the holiday inserts in a large envelope to keep safe till next year.

How to make this Travel Purse

Back and Front view of purse

Mary had fun coming up with some wonderful purse samples to use on our web site. We want to show our customers an array of examples and ideas of what they can do with our PURSuE Your Art! changeable art purse. This is one of my favorite purses in our Gallery.

It is so simple to do, yet so elegant to look at. Mary loves to shop at Estate Sales, has for many years. She has picked up some amazing items and trinkets to add to her collection. These postcards were no exception.

We call this purse our Travel Purse. Mary took her eight Italian postcards and cut them down to 2.5 x 3.5 which fits into our eight pocket purse. Mary used our Easy Cropper tool to help her cut the postcards to the exact size. The Easy Cropper lets you see the image you want to crop before you cut it out. Simply lay the cropper on your image, trace around it and cut it out. Now you have just the right size piece of art to fit into your PURSuE Your Art! purse pocket. It is also the exact size of an Artist Trading Card. You can crop all kinds of images such as photos, magazine pictures, sheet music, and artwork, greeting cards and more. You can order the Easy Cropper from our web site. Click on products to view it.

Next, Mary covered her panels with Road Atlas maps which she used from the pages of her Atlas. This was another great find at the Estate sale. You could also find map paper at most scrapbook stores.Mary and I both own the Xyron 900 which makes covering the panels a snap.

Last she hot-glued a small compass on the bottom front flap of the purse. Fun, fast and so affordable! This is a great idea for all Travel Agents, Travel Planners or anyone in the Travel Business.

This could be used as a promotional purse to promote your travel business. We get stopped all the time when we are out shopping, what a great way to let others know about your business. Make sure you have plenty of your business cards handy!

Anyone on your Christmas list who loves to travel? What a wonderful gift this would make for any women you know that might have some beautiful snapshots, photos, or postcards from their favorite vacation or an exotic trip.

We can't wait to see how you will PURSuE Your Art!
